Character Creation

Building Your Character

Creating a compelling character is the foundation of great roleplay. Your character should have depth, motivations, flaws, and a believable backstory that fits within the Sanctum Noir universe.

📝

Backstory

Create a realistic history for your character. What brought them to Sanctum Noir? What are their goals and fears?

🎭

Personality

Define clear personality traits, quirks, and behavioral patterns. Avoid "perfect" characters—flaws make stories interesting.

🎯

Motivations

What drives your character? Money, power, revenge, justice? Clear motivations guide your roleplay decisions.

🌐

Connections

Think about how your character fits into the world. Do they have allies, enemies, family ties, or debts?

⚖️

Strengths & Weaknesses

Balance your character with both strengths and weaknesses. Are they skilled in combat but terrible with money? Charismatic but impulsive?

🗣️

Voice & Mannerisms

Develop a unique speaking style and physical mannerisms. Accents, catchphrases, and body language help bring your character to life.

Important: Your character must be original. No copying famous characters from movies, TV shows, or games. All characters must be 18+ and fit within a realistic, modern setting.

Roleplay Guide

What is Serious Roleplay?

Serious roleplay means staying in character at all times and making decisions based on what your character would realistically do, not what benefits you as a player. Every action should have consequences, and you should always value your character's life.

Stay In Character

Never break character in voice chat. Use /ooc for out-of-character communication. Your character shouldn't know things the player knows.

Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)/Random Deathmatch (RDM)

Vehicle Deathmatch / Random Deathmatch is strictly against the rules. This is where a player uses a vehicle or weapon to kill someone else without proper RP reasons

No Metagaming

Don't use information from Discord, streams, or other OOC sources in roleplay. Your character only knows what they've learned in-game.

Fail RP

Actions must be realistic. No jumping off buildings, doing stunts without reason, or acting in ways that break immersion.

Power Gaming

Don't force actions on other players without giving them a chance to respond. Use /me and /e commands for emotes and actions.

New Life Rule

If you respawn, you forget the events that led to your death. You can't seek revenge or return to the same situation.

Commands You'll Need

/me Describe physical actions
/e Allows you to quickly type out an emote (F3 For Animation Menu)
/ooc Out-of-character chat
/reloadskin Reload Skin in-cases of character breaks i.e Invisible Body Parts, broken mask etc.
/callmedic Calls the local hospital services, where an ambulance is sent out to your location. (Cannot Be Used Mid-scene - Instant Kick and Player Wipe)
bind Bind a certain action to a key for quick access using the F8 Console - i.e bind keyboard "o" "e dance"
/cash & /bank Check both cash and bank statuses to see player's current wealth
