Everything you need to know to begin your journey in Sanctum Noir. Learn the basics, create your character, and immerse yourself in our world.
Welcome to Sanctum Noir, a serious roleplay server where your choices matter and your character's story unfolds through meaningful interactions. Before diving in, make sure you understand our core principles.
Creating a compelling character is the foundation of great roleplay. Your character should have depth, motivations, flaws, and a believable backstory that fits within the Sanctum Noir universe.
Create a realistic history for your character. What brought them to Sanctum Noir? What are their goals and fears?
Define clear personality traits, quirks, and behavioral patterns. Avoid "perfect" characters—flaws make stories interesting.
What drives your character? Money, power, revenge, justice? Clear motivations guide your roleplay decisions.
Think about how your character fits into the world. Do they have allies, enemies, family ties, or debts?
Balance your character with both strengths and weaknesses. Are they skilled in combat but terrible with money? Charismatic but impulsive?
Develop a unique speaking style and physical mannerisms. Accents, catchphrases, and body language help bring your character to life.
Serious roleplay means staying in character at all times and making decisions based on what your character would realistically do, not what benefits you as a player. Every action should have consequences, and you should always value your character's life.
Never break character in voice chat. Use /ooc for out-of-character communication. Your character shouldn't know things the player knows.
Vehicle Deathmatch / Random Deathmatch is strictly against the rules. This is where a player uses a vehicle or weapon to kill someone else without proper RP reasons
Don't use information from Discord, streams, or other OOC sources in roleplay. Your character only knows what they've learned in-game.
Actions must be realistic. No jumping off buildings, doing stunts without reason, or acting in ways that break immersion.
Don't force actions on other players without giving them a chance to respond. Use /me and /e commands for emotes and actions.
If you respawn, you forget the events that led to your death. You can't seek revenge or return to the same situation.
/me

/e

/ooc

Sanctum Noir features a dynamic economy with both legal and illegal ways to make money. Your choices will shape your character's reputation and opportunities.
Start Small: Begin with legal jobs to build your capital and understand the server mechanics before engaging in riskier activities.
Build Connections: Network with other players. Many opportunities come from relationships and reputation.
Risk vs. Reward: Illegal activities pay more but come with serious consequences. Getting caught can mean jail time and fines.
